New Year, New Attitude…… Same Old? But it doesn't have to be!

Working in the learning & development industry, I have the great pleasure of working alongside some fantastically positive, insightful and wonderfully supportive people. They are qualities I much admire and I actively try to emulate, and it is one of the reasons why i chose to specialise in this industry on my career path. But sometimes we have to interact with people who's outlook and priorities do not necessarily align with that of ours or our clients, and it got me thinking; How often out of habit, are we interacting or putting effort into interactions, with people who are negatively impacting our lives?

When it affects our own well-being and even health, surely we should put more weight in it, and it should be a conscious decision.

We are all on different paths and it would be ignorant of me to think everyone should have the same passion for what I do. Where necessary, i have learnt (and indeed am still learning) to work with these people to ensure the interactions produce the best possible outcome (If you want details on corporate coaching sessions for groups or individuals on Positive power and influence, i know some great consultancies that can help with this) this year, i am looking at consciously investing time and energy into relationships where our goals align, in order that we can really excel at what we do and create greatness together. These are people in life to whom we all naturally gravitate towards. They watch out for our interests, want to see us do well and rejoice when we do. Most importantly, they encourage and help us to be the best we can be. The best version of ourselves. This has to be a good thing!

Having reclaimed my inner calm and my intrinsic positive focus, I am excited to work more closely with those whose interests and goals align with my own, as well as consciously making time to discover exciting, new relationships and seeing what the coming year has in store! This year; Be kind to yourself. Chose your relationships and spend time with people with whom you can grow together.
